Competition Details
The Miss Gay Finger Lakes Pageant will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at 7:00pm. The pageant will take place at the Smith Opera House located at 82 Seneca Street, Geneva, NY 14456. For information regarding the Smith Opera House please visit their website by clicking the image below.
PAGEANT CATEGORIES
1. Purple Presentation
Purple Presentation is the first scored category presented in front of an audience. Attire must be all purple. Accent colors such as silver or gold are okay. The purple presentation look is a scored category and should be reflective of who you are as an entertainer/performer. (11 point maximum).
2. Creative Swimsuit
Each contestant will be required to present a creative swimsuit look. The swimsuit look should be creative, form fitted, and should be accessorized with appropriate hair, shoes, and accessories. Props and extra people for the swimsuit category are encouraged but not required. If using additional people, a maximum of 6 extra people (7 total) will be allowed on stage at one time. The cost is $50.00 per back up dancer/entertainer.

3. Evening Gown
Each contestant will be required to present a formal evening gown look. Evening gown must be floor length and should be complimented with a formal updo and appropriate accessories. (11 point maximum)
4. Talent
Each contestant will be required to present a 3-6 minute (including set up and take down) talent piece. Contestants are not required to utilize additional people in their talent presentation. However, if they choose, a maximum of 8 extra people (9 total) are permitted on stage at one time. The stage at the Vine Theatre at del Lago Resort & Casino comfortably fits the maximum number of dancers/people allowed on stage. The cost is $50.00 per back up dancer/entertainer. 5. On Stage Answer
After the completion of presentation, creative swimsuit, evening gown, and talent only the top 5 contestants as determined by the scores, will advance on to compete in the on-stage question. All contestants will answer the same question. (11 point maximum)
All scores, comments, and copies of original score sheets will be provided at the close of the competition. The contact information for each judge will be made available to all contestants within one week of the competition.
All contestants will be required to arrive at the Host Hotel -- Holiday Inn Express & Suites, 530 Hamilton Street, Geneva, NY 14456 on Saturday, May 4th by 4:00pm. On competition night (5/5/24), all contestants are required to arrive to the dressing room at 5:15pm for a pre-competition meeting. A 2-point deduction may be taken from the final score if a contestant is late for any portion of the competition or does not arrive to the pre-competition meeting on time. Discretion is up to MGFL personnel/Head Judge for any point deductions related to tardiness.
